【STORY】

The main character, Taro, is a self-proclaimed independent filmmaker who is about to turn 30 and lives with a woman who feeds him. Taro wins a prize in an independent film competition and goes to Oita Prefecture. He goes to a film festival in high spirits, but at the screening he is depressed when the woman who organizes the festival harshly criticizes his film. Taro does not attend the party and wanders off the next day to a neighboring town. There, he is approached by a woman named Miki, who says she saw Taro’s film, and Taro and Miki decide to go on a small trip together for just one night and two days. During the trip, Taro reveals to Miki his lack of confidence in his filmmaking. Although his true identity is unknown to Miki, somehow Taro is able to be his honest self with Miki, who has an open and transparent personality. He also develops a faint crush on Miki, but the love is never consummated. Taro returns to Tokyo, where his girlfriend is waiting for him.

Director: Shin Adachi

Born June 10, 1972 in Tottori Prefecture. After graduating from the Japan Academy of Moving Images, studied under director Shinji Somai. After working as an assistant director and in theater, he began writing scenarios.

In 2015, he won the Best Screenplay Award at the 39th Japan Academy Awards and the 17th Ryuzo Kikushima Award for “100 Yen Love” (14).　Overseas, he also won various awards.
