Children of the Bird(directed by:Julia Tudisco / Hungary)

A fictional mythological movie about the birth and death of our planet. The movie shows things happening on the planet through the eyes of two naive god figures; a wild girl who has the power of creation, and a shy boy who has the power of destruction. This is not a fight between “bad” and “good”, but a game between two equal parts to find harmony, which seems to work well until a new issue enters the story: the human race.

Director: Julia Tudisco

Julia Tudisco
My name is Julia Tudisco. I’m a half-Hungarian, half-Italian animation filmmaker and illustrator, based in Budapest. I completed my Master’s in Animation at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2023, with my graduation short film, ‘Children of the Bird.’ I directed three other short films before: ‘Sirens,’ ‘Oh Droplet,’ and ‘Baby Steps.’ My creative inspiration mainly comes from the intuitive sketches in my sketchbook. I love folk art, folktales, mythological stories from different cultures, naive art, and I especially admire how children can draw. I am a fan of any artwork that feels very pure and honest. This is my guiding principle in all my films.
